族谱学会于年初喜获新加坡社团注册局批准成立为学术团体，目前正处于筹划阶段。
我等成立“族谱学会”的最大意愿，在于要建成一工作平台，号召有识之士及关心宗族血脉世袭传承，以及华族优良精神文化传统的延传和发展的热心人士参与，共赴平台，“有一份热，发一份光”的目的为目前“日薄西山”的传统文化以及许多“身世迷离”处于迷茫中的子弟们寻回身世，确立明确的“身份定位”重拾信心，以应正朝向“全球化社会”的发展趋势，希望后世子孙们，将来在芸芸众生中，都能不遗忘自己的根，遗失自己的本。
新加坡地处东南亚的中心地点，数百年钱早已是东南亚商贾经商往来的必经之地。商人落户，开枝散叶，是这里成为各族文化交流荟萃之地，因此新加坡早已享有“世界人种博览会”的雅丽堂号。现在居住在东南亚各地的各个民族和“新加坡人”或多或少都有密切的血缘与血统的关系，正是“盘根交错”着的。我们具备人文历史和地理位置上的优势，如果能得到有关当局的肯定，投入人力和物力，我们必定能建成东南亚首座“族谱书库”，吸应学者专家留驻研究“世界人种文化和历史”，成为中心重镇之一。
新加坡已独立建国，“新加坡华人”（再也不是华侨）也应该策定自己的方针取向，重新规划编谱的规范和规格，设定自己的“新谱法”以应和社会、时代潮流发展与趋势。我们将以“先世渊源若有，整合当今现“奔向世界”的子弟们做好“扎根狮城”的心理和思想上的准备功夫，为他们预留一道将来回溯到狮城来寻根觅族的索引，这层意义是源远非凡的。
近年来，本地很多华人对自己的宗族乃至华族的“认知”和“认同”感觉淡漠，令人有“日暮西山”之慨，虽然如此，贵总会并不为所动，仍然秉持传统所赋予的使命，努力不懈地在推动各项关系华族文化和习俗传统的活动，功德无量，而依近20年来国际社会形势的改变，以及世界华人的发展动向所见。目前具备有利的优势条件，能为“征谱建谱库”以及“新加坡华人建新谱系”提供极大的便利，并且注入一股新的“强动力”。另者，处于新旧出代交替之际，这也是我们这一代人的“天职”，不能推卸，坐失的奉献良机。
“征谱建谱库，建新谱系”虽然劳师动众，艰巨繁浩的精神文化建设的大工程，但在艰辛与劳碌中，却能促使族亲族众之间的交往频密，增进族情族宜；它也能强化宗族的凝聚力，团结族人，一举多得，相信这也是当今华族社群之所期待的。谱系犹如一道无形的纽带，它能维系“宗族血脉世袭”以及“习俗教化传统”千秋不息的传承，确实是“功在当代，惠及子孙千秋万世的功德伟业”。

2 Objectives
     
  i To establish and provide a forum to attract intellectuals, scholars and persons interested in genealogy and ancestral studies and research, the opportunity to meet, interact, share and exchange knowledge gained
     
  ii To promulgate and educate members and the general public in the field of genealogy and ancestral roots so as to create greater awareness and interest that will help to promote the advancement of our multi-racial cross cultural heritage, customs and traditions in Singapore and the Region
     
  iii To seek and collaborate with relevant Government bodies, civil & public institutions, civic societies, academic institutions and individuals in or outside Singapore who share similar interests that would help achieve the purpose and objects of the Society.
